Of Animals & Nature

My son when he tried to make the goats lick his finger 😅
(WARNING: This is not a guide on how to tour the zoo, like one that you might find on Trip Advisor. This's more of like a documentation of the highlights of my day when I was there and it contains some expletives and a lot of sarcasm. 😊)

You know what a trip to the zoo does to you as an adult?

It makes you feel like a kid.

I was hot and sweaty but I enjoyed it especially because my urbanised *rolls eyes* kids were so excited, they could barely contain it. There were many weird questions that came from them too. One of it was 'Why are there so many types of Monkeys?', to which I answered, 'Because they're just like us. We come in different colours and hairstyles too.'

There were also the crazy times; when my kids (who I am positive have acquired Monkey genes from somewhere) refused to leave their fellow mates, the goats, in peace and insisted in feeding the poor fellows junk food which I 'nearly' had to wrestle out of their hands if the counting trick ('I'm counting to three or else...............') hadn't work.

My son whose 'animal spirit' resurfaced after lunch, took it upon himself to traverse the animal land with much vivacity and without any regard for the humans and the PANDAS. He insisted on staying with the pandas, so I tried using reverse psychology and said my fake 'goodbyes'. The joke was on me of course because the little guy said goodbye and ran back into the panda center and that too WITHOUT HUGS. Of course, I ran back in after him like a nut case. Tired as I was chasing after a toddler and having to listen to three very opinionated young ladies, I still managed to catch a few photos during the trip. See below.

The unamused bull who was probably wishing that we would all just fuck off
The three stooges who looked as if they're up to no good
The white tiger who just wants to eat and get laid. What a life!
Towards the end of the trip, it started raining heavily and we had two choices: stay indoors in the bugs indoor center or run for it. We decided on the latter. Kids were happy they got to get wet in the rain. I was happy they were happy and well, I have a thing about playing in the rain so I enjoyed it too. It's strangely exhilarating for me whenever I spend time in nature, even if it was just a jog but that feeling I get when I'm outside and not sheltered by anything but the skies that roll out above me in its various beautiful forms... wonderful...just wonderful.
